Architect, designer and artist Victoria Yakusha will open a new gallery space in Miami’s Design District on 11th February 2026, marking her first permanent presence in the United States and the latest chapter in the international expansion of Victoria Yakusha Space.
Following established galleries in Kyiv and Antwerp, the Miami gallery opening extends Yakusha’s philosophy of living minimalism across the Atlantic, bridging Europe and the U.S. through a spatial language rooted in cultural memory, material research and emotional depth. Yakusha is a globally acclaimed talent and ranks among the Dezeen 50 powerful women in design. Her multidisciplinary Yakusha studio has been working within the fields of architecture, interiors, creative direction and product design since 2007. In 2025 Yakusha’s product design brand FAINA was exhibited at Design Miami as be part of Design Miami 2.0 — a special curated project by Glenn Adamson celebrating the fair’s 20th anniversary.
Now based in Brussels, Ukrainian-born Victoria Yakusha is widely recognized for a distinctive minimalist practice that combines pared-back forms with animistic thinking, sustainability and a deep connection to nature. Her work spans architecture, interiors and collectible design, and often incorporates materials native to Ukraine, transforming vernacular references into contemporary expressions of place and identity.
More than a traditional gallery, Victoria Yakusha Space functions as a cultural platform – a site for architectural exploration, material experimentation and dialogue around cultural heritage. The Miami location will continue this model, while also representing the international growth of an independent, female-led practice developed outside conventional gallery or brand structures.
The new Victoria Yakusha Space in Miami’s Design District is Yakusha’s third permanent outpost, forming a symbolic axis between Kyiv, Antwerp and Miami. This transcontinental dialogue – which the designer describes as a balance between depth and lightness – will be explored during a public conversation on opening night with Miami-based writer Salomé Gómez-Upegui.
Set against Miami’s sunlit urban landscape, the new gallery introduces Yakusha’s quietly powerful aesthetic to a new audience, offering what she describes as an “Oasis of live minimalism” within one of the world’s most design-forward cities.
We had long wanted to open a gallery in the US, as we have many clients there. We decided to start with Miami, even though visually, this city has a different vibe from ours. But we managed to combine our aesthetic with Miami’s lightness, and our galleries always reflect our philosophy and vision.
