Black Sabbath Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s final creative project is making its U.S. debut at this year’s Spectrum Miami art fair: a groundbreaking collection of abstract paintings co-created with the artistic chimpanzees of the non-profit sanctuary Save The Chimps. Due to be unveiled on the birthday of the late Ozzy Osbourne during Miami Art Week (3-7 December, 2025), the collaboration features limited edition prints, apparel, and accessories designed to raise funds for the world-renowned sanctuary.
The unique partnership–completed just weeks before Osbourne’s passing–blends Osbourne’s vivid basecoats with expressive brushstrokes from the sanctuary’s resident apes, resulting in a one-of-a-kind series now available to fans and collectors for the first time. Just weeks before his passing in July, Osbourne completed his final creative endeavor—an unprecedented series of five abstract paintings co-created with chimpanzees from Save The Chimps, the world’s largest privately funded chimpanzee sanctuary located on 150 acres in Fort Pierce, Florida. Osbourne laid down vivid, multi-colored base layers on each canvas. The sanctuary’s artistic chimps then added their own expressive brushstrokes, resulting in striking collaborative works named after the rocker’s iconic songs and albums.
The original five paintings–Blizzard of Ozz, Electric Funeral, Paranoid, Tattooed Dancer, and Technical Ecstasy–were auctioned exclusively through Omega Auctions, one of the world’s leading houses for music memorabilia. Together, they raised $75,000 for the sanctuary, with the top-selling piece, Paranoid, created with chimp Janice, fetching $18,000. The auction launched just after Osbourne’s farewell performance and one week before his death.

I paint because it gives me peace of mind, but I don’t sell my paintings. I’ve made an exception with these collaborations as it raises money for Save the Chimps, a sanctuary for hundreds of apes rescued from labs, roadside zoos and wildlife traffickers.” Ozzy Osbourne

Only about 10% of our chimpanzees enjoy painting, Ozzy was a man of the people, so we priced the prints and merch so his fans could participate in this fundraiser, which we decided to launch on his birthday during Miami Art Week. Painting is just one of the many enrichment activities we provide—others prefer food puzzles, foraging, or picture books.” Dan Mathews, Save The Chimps

To honor Osbourne’s birthday and expand the fundraiser, Save The Chimps is releasing limited edition, numbered prints of the collaborative works, priced at $150 each, available both at Spectrum Miami and through the organization’s website. Fans can also purchase 38×38 scarves featuring three of the paintings—Paranoid, Tattooed Dancer, and Technical Ecstasy—for $75, as well as T-shirts showcasing Blizzard of Ozz and Paranoid for $35. All proceeds benefit Save The Chimps and support ongoing enrichment programs for the sanctuary’s residents. Dan Mathews, Events Director at Save The Chimps, previewed the pieces to the Osbourne family in Birmingham ahead of Ozzy’s final show.
Chimps are our closest relatives in the animal world, and I’m proud of Ozzy for summoning the energy to support them during his last months, despite his health challenges. The original paintings raised vital funds for the sanctuary, and the prints, scarves, and T-shirts will give even more fans the opportunity to help.” Sharon Osbourne
