“Convergence’’ is an exhibition that bridges the gap between the wild and the human gaze ‘’Convergence’’ moves beyond the limits of the physical space, it’s a heartbeat, a pulse of the natural world, encapsulated by two artists, award-winning German wildlife photographer Lars Beusker and Italian painter Giusy Rampini, who dare to capture the raw essence of wildlife through both paint and lens.
Set to be a defining moment in the exhibition is the first exhibition of “Convergence” is a pivotal moment for Rampini as it’s her first exhibition in the UK, while Beusker is exhibiting in the UK for the second time. “Convergence” suggests the union of two or more forces, where Beusker’s photographs and Rampini’s paintings unite, offering a rare, almost resistant look into the eyes of the wild. This is not a distant observation; it’s a direct invitation into the realm where animals are not subjects but entities that are gazing back, challenging us with their unfiltered presence.
Lars Beusker and Giusy Rampini’s dual show will be exhibited at the award-winning Miart Gallery London, a spectacular 560m2 contemporary and modern art centre located in the heart of Mayfair on St. James’s Street, London.

This commitment to offering fresh perspectives and merging fields is exactly why Miart Gallery has been recognized with multiple awards, celebrated for connecting viewers with art in unexpected and thought-provoking ways, and inviting audiences to question the boundaries between the observer and observed.
Lars Beusker is more than a photographer, he is a storyteller of the natural world, capturing moments that feel both intimate and monumental. Known for his evocative black-and-white wildlife photography, Beusker brings a distinct perspective to the exhibition, one rooted in his deep connection to Africa’s wilderness. After a successful career in fashion photography, he transitioned to wildlife, using his experience with a 130mm or maximum 200mm lens—a tool often associated with fashion— to get remarkably close to his subjects. Beusker gets as close as 2 to 3 metres to his wild models, within hunting distance, and then he shoots with his camera! As a result, he captures the spectacular eye contact of his animal kingdom subjects, an up close and personal approach between man and wildlife that has become his signature style. This choice brings us face-to-face with wildlife in a way that feels less like observation and more like revelation.
Beusker’s images capture raw, unfiltered beauty, drawing us in with an intensity that lingers and a level of detail reminiscent of painters like Jan van Eyck, where one might even catch a glimpse of Beusker’s reflection in the animals’ eyes. By stripping away color, Beusker removes emotional bias, focusing instead on the character and dignity of the animals, inviting viewers to see them not as subjects, but as beings with depth and Presence.
The “Convergence” exhibition will include a selection of 19 photographs by Beusker and 8 paintings by Rampini. The exhibition is curated by Irem Deniz, founder and director of Miart Gallery.
‘’Videos and photos show him lying in the back of a car with the door open. He researches thoroughly to find the right guide who can bring him close to the animals. Then he waits for the animal to approach him. ‘Six meters, five meters, four meters – then I press the shutter’ he explains. Is he scared? ‘I do get nervous in those moments, but not because of fear – it’s anticipation for the photo.'” STERN: ‘’Spektakuläre Aufnahme eines Löwen – Naturfotograf des Jahres ausgezeichnet’’, December 2022
‘’Lars Beusker is an outstanding wildlife photographer who brings the beauty and energy of the animal world to life in his images. His photographs bear witness to a deep fascination with animals and an eye for their uniqueness. His artistic ability allows him to capture fascinating moments with his camera and offer a new perspective on the animal world.” Johannes Schmidt
Giusy Rampini, a celebrated Italian artist known for her wildlife paintings, brings a painterly sensitivity to her exploration of African wildlife. Originally trained as a fashion designer, Rampini transitioned into fine art, studying under the renowned painter Adriano Grasso Caprioli and at prestigious institutions such as the IL BISONTE international engraving school in Florence. Her unique, minimalistic approach immerses the audience in lush, layered worlds that feel almost otherworldly. Rampini isolates her animal subjects from their natural environments, capturing not only their physical form but also the spirit and energy that animates each creature. Rampini’s work goes beyond mere representation; it invites us into a quiet dialogue with the untamed, where color, texture and movement converge to evoke a profound sense of connection. Her paintings don’t just depict animals, they invite us to feel their presence, to pause and consider the lives that pulse alongside our own.
“In the imposing dimensions of Giusy Rampini’s animals lies their belonging to worlds we cannot know. Their typical, strange, and bizarre forms hold their secrets, often impenetrable.” Elisabetta Sgarbi
“The Humanized Bestiary Painted by Giusy Rampini. The viewer immediately perceives the symbolic value of the species and feels an affinity with them.” Vittorio Sgarbi
