On femininity, identity and the space between fashion photography and fine art.
Ukrainian-born, London-based photographer Victoria Storozhenko presents Echoes of Her, her first solo exhibition in London, opening on 5 November 2026 at 19B Beak Street in Soho.
Working across fashion and portrait photography, Storozhenko explores the relationship between the image and the individual, moving beyond conventional representations of beauty towards a more personal understanding of femininity and identity.
Curated by Joséphine May Bailey in partnership with Ansaldo, Echoes of Her brings together intimate portraits and experimental photographic works that consider how women see themselves, how they are seen by others, and the experiences that shape their identities.
For the latest edition of Culturalee in Conversation, we speak with the artist about the women behind her photographs, the influence of fashion photography on her artistic practice, and what she hopes audiences will take away from the exhibition.

The exhibition is titled Echoes of Her. Who is “her” to you?
“Her” is not one particular woman. She represents the different versions of ourselves that we carry throughout our lives. The woman we once were, the woman we are today, and the woman we are still becoming.
In many ways, she is also a reflection of myself. Through photographing other women, I often discover something about my own identity, emotions, and experiences.

How does your fashion photography practice influence your artistic work?
Fashion photography has taught me to appreciate beauty, composition, and the power of visual storytelling. But in my personal work, I’m interested in what exists beyond beauty.

What do you hope visitors will take away from the exhibition?
I simply hope that something catches their attention, leaves a vivid impression, and becomes a memory they carry with them.
