In celebration of Pride 2026,The West Hollywood EDITION welcomes five talented LGBTQI+ artists based in Los Angeles for the inaugural Made with Pride artist residency program. Works by the artists will be auctioned to the public in support of Los Angeles LGBT Center.

Made with Pride brings together a dynamic group of five celebrated creatives whose diverse practices each bring a unique exploration of queer creativity and visibility through varying mediums, making the culturally-conscious property their residence for a short time, treating the hotel as a source material.

Amit Greenberg X West Hollywood EDITION

Photographer Grant Legan, whose work can be seen across the likes of Bvlgari, Michael Kors, and Violet Grey adverts, uses the hotel’s sensory landscape to inspire cinematic stills that pay homage to the sensuality and intimacy felt at the hotel. Painter and Yale MFA graduate Zoe Walsh uses their time to further meditate on the mediated social landscape of Los Angeles: pools, parks, and gardens as spaces where desire, visibility, and regulation converge. Ceramic artist Mohamed Ouedrago embraces the residency as an opportunity to reconnect with joy, and possibility, channeling his “inner child” and sense of play into his work. French mixed-media artist Amit Greenberg returns to the hotel with his signature pop-surrealist style, celebrating creativity and self-expression. Otis College of Art and Design MFA graduate Vita Kari presents a textile work, offering a unique perspective as their work explores themes of virality, diaspora, and communication, drawing from their experience as a deaf/ hard of hearing artist.

From the textures and atmospheres of the property to the energy of Sunset Boulevard after dark, the creatives are encouraged to absorb the environment and translate it through the language of their own practice, resulting in work that could only emerge from this specific moment, place, and experience.

The West Hollywood EDITION has always been intentional about being a supportive sanctuary for the queer and creative communities. This year, we wanted to take a new approach to celebrating queer perspectives and stories by directly investing into these creative practices and offering a unique platform for these wonderful artists, while also raising money for a nonprofit that directly supports the community.”

Gregory Alexander, Director of Culture and Entertainment at The West Hollywood EDITION

The works will be exhibited for the public on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at Studio 1 at The West Hollywood EDITION. A silent auction of the art will be held that evening from 8pm until 10pm, with all proceeds benefitting the Los Angeles LGBT Center

Grant Legan x The West Hollywood EDITION

I always feel my trust, most honest self when I’m on the go and traveling, and the work created here calls to memories of solace and connection in foreign cities” For this body of work, he explores the emotional language of the sensory landscape at EDITION: from the glow of the suites and outdoor spaces, to the lingering fragrance and serene atmosphere. The imagery captures moments of sensuality and presence, evoking the inherently cinematic quality of hotel life. The residency also carries personal significance for the artist, who celebrated the launch of his 2019 book at the New York EDITION. “This work is a love lett er to West Hollywood’s queer creative community and the freedom of expression we’ve created here.”       Grant Legan

Zoe Walsh

Zoe Walsh x The West Hollywood EDITION

I make vividly chromatic paintings in which elusive figures shimmer within landscapes shaped by memory, fantasy, and material history. A recurring focus in my work is the mediated social landscape of Los Angeles—pools, parks, and gardens as spaces where desire, visibility, and regulation converge. I’m interested in forms of presence that are composited and unstable. I use painting to hold contradictions in suspension, making space for forms of relation and embodiment that exceed fixed categories of visibility and truth.

At the EDITION, I was interested in how light moves through the building, how thresholds between interior and exterior spaces are framed by plants, mirrors, and glass, and how the rooftop views offer an elevated perspective on Los Angeles. In my work, I construct layered views of a fictionalized Los Angeles. I was particularly interested in how reflective surfaces inside the hotel produce a virtual sense of the space beyond it, and how sketches from these vantage points might inform future imagined spaces.

The painting I am donating in support of the LGBT Center is an archival piece from a past project remediating 1980s Falcon Studios still photos through an imagined digital model of a pool with architectural motifs informed by Richard Neutra’s work. In this context, the painting resonates with my observations at the EDITION through a shared attention to pools, architecture, reflection, and the mediated construction of place.”  Zoe Walsh

Their figurative tapestries (inspired by their grandmother’s rugs), often feature unweaving that obscures the image, like missing dialogue without captions while deaf/HOH.

Throughout the month of June, the Lobby Bar will serve an exclusive cocktail, True Colors made with tequila, yuzu, lychee, passionfruit, hibiscus mezcal float, topped with rainbow sour candy.
