For the latest in our emerging artist spotlight, we profile the art of Temitope Ayobami Ogunseitan, an artist and designer working at the crossroads between fashion, art, textile design and social engagement.
The creative practice of Temitope Ayobami Ogunseitan, known as TP4STYLE, occupies a compelling space between contemporary art, community and cultural transformation. A multi-disciplinary artist working across digital painting, textile design and wearable art, Ogunseitan has developed a unique practice that dissolves conventional boundaries between fine art and fashion. Ogunseitan presents clothing not only as a functional object but as a powerful creative medium for storytelling, identity and cultural expression.
Central to Ogunseitan’s experimental artwork is an ongoing dialogue between the digital and the handmade. His vibrant digital paintings explore themes of memory, belonging and heritage, while his hand-painted and custom-designed textiles translate these narratives into physical form. The resulting garments function as moving artworks, transforming the body into a site of performance and cultural exchange. Ogunseitan is almost a living artwork, wearing his own designs with bold colour palettes, and translating the vibrant colour palette of his fashion designs to his digital art portraiture. Through his expressive visual language, Ogunseitan creates works that celebrate individuality while simultaneously addressing broader questions of community, migration and cultural continuity. Ogunseitan’s vibrant, strikingly contemporary portraits bring to mind the celebration of black beauty, culture and fashion found in the photography of Thandiwe Muriu, and embody a similar sense of cultural pride to the work of Yinka Shonibare.

His approach is particularly significant within contemporary discussions around sustainability. By incorporating upcycled and preloved materials into his fashion practice, Ayobami challenges stereotypes about luxury and consumption. Rather than viewing discarded materials as waste, he reimagines them as vehicles for transformation, demonstrating how creativity can generate new meanings and possibilities. This philosophy reflects his wider commitment to accessibility, inclusivity and social responsibility.
Ogunseitan’s growing reputation as an innovator in the art and fashion worlds has been reinforced through a series of high-profile commissions and exhibitions. He was Creative Designer on a major collaborative commission for the National Library of Wales, which involved responsibilty for colour direction, textile design and visual composition. The project was exhibited at the National Library and permanently archived within its collection, affirming the cultural significance of his contribution. Another highlight of his burgeoning career as an artist was recognition as a winner of the National Portrait of Britain competition, which led to him being featured in the Portrait of Britain Photojournal 2024/2025.

Ogunseitan has built a supportive creative community of next generation artists and creatives in Wales, and his work as a designer and digital artist highlights the vital role of interdisciplinary practice within contemporary visual culture. His acclaimed 2025 solo exhibition Art of Fashion featured vibrant digital portraits of fashionable figures, influenced by contemporary fashion and his Nigerian heritage. More recognition came when he was shortlisted for the Visual Stories group exhibition at W3 Gallery in London (14 May to 30 June 2026).
Alongside his studio work, Ogunseitan has established himself as an influential cultural leader. As founder of Drippcity NG, Nigeria’s largest fashion and creative community, and creator of the Art in the Park initiative, he has consistently used art as a catalyst for education, empowerment and social connection. This commitment continues with the upcoming Art in the Park exhibition that he is developing in partnership with Firstsite, Colchester, an important next chapter that extends his vision of accessible, community-centred creativity into a major contemporary arts institution.
What distinguishes Ogunseitan’s practice is its seamless integration of artistic innovation and public engagement. His work demonstrates that contemporary art can be aesthetically ambitious while remaining deeply rooted in collective experience, proving that creativity can be both transformative and socially meaningful. Definitely a rising art and fashion star in the making.
